The time is coming for my favorite writer's conference, and I'm not just saying that because it's practically in my backyard. I'll be there. If you are not familiar with James RIver Writers, I highly recommend that you check it out. There are great speakers, and panels. It never fails to teach me something.

Fantasy Casting Fun

We all picture our own cast when we read. So, let's have some fun and imagine who we would cast in the Once & Future Series. Twice a week for the next 3 weeks, I'll post a character. Comment with a name and/or picture of whoever you imagined in the role while you were reading. I'll reveal the final selections during the online launch party.

Central VA Celtic Festival & Highland Games

Come and see the great highland games, dancing, fiddle, and band competitions, and great music. There are even great activities for kids. Mine love the archery. I have also heard that Clan Currie is planning to have some interesting Gaelic culture info in their tent. One of the best parts of these games is that they're dog friendly, so you might even see Wee Fergus out there.

Get It Together Blog Hop

I'll be participating in the Get It Together Blog Hop with some of my fellow writers. See how some of us organize our writer-type stuff and stay productive in the face of children, day jobs, writer neuroses, and endless internet distractions.

This blog hop is chock full of awesome writers and will be going on ALL week with several posts per day. It's organized by Alexandra Haughton and Lindsey Emory, and the schedule of posts and giveaway information can be found on their websites.

Not the official cover. This is just a mock-up.

Because the next book, Cauldron (Excerpts here) is set in Scotland, Eric and I will be winging our way across the pond to explore Edinburgh and the Highlands. You know, for research.

We'll be following in the footsteps of Sarah, Dermot, James and Molly.
