No Kings Colorwork Chart
In a fit of madness last October, I started a colorwork panel on Wednesday for the No Kings Protest on Saturday. I figured that I go to enough of these protests that I should have a sign that is more permanent. In a rush to finish it in time, I have landed myself at the orthopedists and am getting carpal tunnel surgery in a couple of weeks.
However, the panel turned out great. It was a hit at the protest, even though it was still unfinished. I confess, it has been sitting in my to-be-blocked pile since because I’ve had business related things going on, but I am happy to share the chart with anyone who would like to knit their own. (I do recommend giving yourself plenty of lead time before your next protest, so that you do not do yourself an injury like I did.)
I made the chart in Stitch Fiddle. When knitting, I used a combination of stranded colorwork and intarsia. This chart could also be modified for embroidery or tapestry crochet, whatever your stitchy medium of choice. The yarn is a combo of Red Heart Supersaver and Caron Simply Soft (Really, just stuff I had in my stash).
You can download the chart here.
Also, if you like my knitted protest sign, you might also like my Protect Trans Kids chart. I knit this as a double knit shawl. You can find more info about it here.
