Join me and many other authors and readers in the heart of historic Fredericksburg, at the city’s Riverfront Park.

Whether you missed this workshop earlier this year, or are just getting started, you can join me to talk about ways to develop characters readers care about. Building compelling characters is essential to keeping readers turning pages. We’ll talk about what character arcs are and why they make your stories better, as well as ways to make your characters real for your readers. This is an in-person workshop from 5-7PM at Canal Quarter Arts in Fredericksburg. You can register here.

I will be at the Book Fair portion of Margins & Moonlight Richmond on September 19th. I’m very excited to be joining this event. It looks like a great time for readers, especially fantasy readers.

If you are a writer in the Fredericksburg area and you have a hard time finding the time to write or focusing on writing at home where interruptions abound, come write with me. Shut out the distractions and body double with other writers. We’ll practice the Pomodoro Technique of timed sprints and breaks. We start at 5 and run until 7.

I’ll be chatting with some readers at a friends house about Tar Heel Pie.

This one is not open to the public, but it’s a great reminder that if you have a book club and would like to read one of my books, I will be happy to come and chat with your group if you’re within an hour’s drive of Fredericksburg or over Google Meet or Zoom.

Knitters, Crocheters, Weavers, Spinners, all fiber artist are welcome to wind down from your week with us at this free stitch and chat session. We meet from 5-7PM at Canal Quarter Arts. Bring your current project and work on it with us while we chat. All fiber arts and artists are welcome.

Revise Your Draft Workshop - This month’s writing workshop is all about revising (something I hope to be doing on Book 6 soon). We’ll talk about the different phases of revising a draft, and how to make a plan for working through each. We’ll explore some of the tough decisions writers have to make like learning to ‘kill your darlings’. Whether you’re in the revision stages or still working on your draft, this will be a great peek into the process once you get the story out of your head and onto the page.

You DO NOT need to have attended previous workshops to get the benefits of this one.

If you would like to register, you can do so here.
