Shoreline Art Shawl

$400.00

Inspired by the rippling waves of a receding tide that leave sea foam along the shore.

This one-of-a-kind collared shawl is a feast for the eyes. The waves are created with short row color work allowing the colors of the yarn to pool together. The collar continues the short row pattern using handspun yarn and curls of Leicester Longwool fleece thrummed with the yarn to create the 'sea foam'. The bottom side of the shawl includes an open-work scalloped edge, and the varying colors of each wave carry through to the fringe that edges the ends. The shell appliques are knit with wool on size 0 needles, and sewn on with pearl-like glass beads to add to the shore-like look of the collar.

Won second place in the “Nature” Art Show at Canal Quarter Arts in Fredericksburg, VA.

Measures 80 inches long w/ 12 inches of fringe, and 30 inches wide at it’s widest point.

Wool, Acrylic, Glass & Wood

Includes Scallop Shell Shawl Pin.
